On the last Sunday in seaside town Travemuende: a young man put on the rails of the local train to Luebeck and killed themselves in a suicide.
Probably under personal circumstances and in an alcohol intoxication.
Beside a bubbling rumor kitchen spontaneously a mute memorial developed to the memory at the place of the happening...

Day of the open Monuments

Into Germany it comes at least annually to a "day of the open monument"; also of course in the Hanseatic city Luebeck.
On this day can each historical buildings and places visit, which are locked for the public otherwise. Topic of the daily in this year: War and peace.
Beside shelters, medieval weir systems and many other places to the topic, also the historical Luebecker synagogue was open for public.
The Jewish municipality Luebeck is today very small - before the Nazi rule it was large.
Only a Luebecker municipality member of this time survived the Holocaust.
Second scene: The mansion in the Eschenburgstrasse: Here met under conpirative circumstances of the Chef of the Nazi-SS Heinrich Himmler, and the president of the Swedish Red Cross, Count Bernadotte.

The days of the old "Herrenbruecke" are counted. As Trave-Crossing now a duty-requiring tunnel serves to the People of Luebeck, Travellers and commuters. That costs with each passage a euro, caused in contrast to the free bridge however no waiting periods - those was (at least in the seventies, with its build) largest balance bridge of Europe. And sometimes rather frequently opened. The driving through the new "Herrentunnel" is by the way to date free - the Mautsystem does not want yet so correctly, the operators has difficulties with the technology. Instead of being pleased, the distrustful Luebecker speculates upon when the duty price will be already increased due to this loss.
The VLOG contains the passage in two directions, once south north, afterwards north south - worth seeing for ones with tunnel Phobia ...

At the Calvarienberg in Travemuende you´ll finds a new "high climbing path".
Here it leaves itself naturally sufficiently secured and expertly instructed, excellent, to climbing. Climbing such as Robin Hood - from crown of tree to crown of tree, around which broad wood platforms are worked.
For resting and naturally biologically fastens; in the tree is not allegedly a nail.
This "Baumkletterei" probably represents one of the oldest kinds of sport of the Germans, which is come into oblivion meanwhile long and only by some Freaks professionally one operates.
The Angeln from Schleswig-Holstein, which allied themselves on the "island" with the Sachens to the "Angel-Saxonia" and created (more or less) the later British world realm, then probably brought the tree climbing to England - are too obvious to old traditions delivered today, which are identical both in Schleswig-Holstein and in England. Fireship "Fehmarnbelt" - a maritime museum

When "light ship" become designation, which on high Sea anchored and occupied important positions, thus as "mobile Lighthouse" served. Often the constant crew only each month was replaced. The job of the crew was monotonous, but nevertheless rarely boring. Particularly with dense fog the danger by other ships not to be in time recognized to a serious burst test; to evade the light ships could not, since they were firmly embodied at their position. In the age of GPS-satellite navigation light ships (like also many lighthouses) became redundant. In the Luebecker museum port exists the possibility of visiting the light ship "Fehmarnbelt". The "Fehmarnbelt" served last as beacon in the Baltic Sea, between the german island Fehmarn and the Danish mainland.

The last Days of the "Herrenbruecke" (1)

In Luebeck there is a high-level bridge toTravemuende, which applied in the seventies to its completion as one of the largest folding high-level bridges of Europe. One of the architects was however not safe itself whether the bridge is large also as safety, as it and fell itself still during the building phase into a raw concrete pillar of the bridge. There it is to lie still today, tells themselves one. Perhaps one can convince of it soon, that the bridge in few months tears off. The tunnel under the River Trave, "Herrentunnel" mentioned, are opened soon and make the bridge redundant. Much to the displeasure of the regular commuters, because the tunnel costs fees, the past bridge was free; but that is another topic...
In the tie-clip the bridge is by the way to be seen only short. Everything was tinkered from "chips" and is still considered as experiment...

Particularly in the states the opinion is still widespread that in Europe responsibly with the cultural and historical inheritance one goes around. Of course maintain the Italians, Frenchman, Englishman, Germans and other Europeans the architecture, monuments and historical places of their states. St.Petri - Church of Arts

Meanwhile many churches no more are not used in their original regulation. So also in Luebeck. One the historical like famous "seven towers", the St.Petri church, is used today as art and meeting place. There take place instead of services art exhibitions, discussion meetings and jazz concerts. St.Petri was only introduced before approximately 25 years of the public. In the Second World War at the bomb night 1942, at which nearly a quarter of the historical old part of town fell "to victim", the church was destroyed nearly completely and burned out. Therefore after the war the idea to leave the church ship in the future "bright". The church tower has a prospect platform, on which one has a fantastic panorama view around the old part of town island up to the Baltic Sea.

German War-Cemetery

In Luebeck there is the "honour cemetery" opposite the famous "Burgtor" cemetery - a monument such as memorial of the wars.
Here the murderous soldiers lie; like members of the notorious police battalion 162; and also the victims of the "National Socialist" time and the Second World War - just like the Luebecker resistance fighter Julius Leber.
Nevertheless a local "historic Monument" for old and new Nazis.
Only on the "Volkstrauertag" the neo-Nazis marching before the Burgtorgate of Luebeck, to the "memorial of the unknown soldier", lay flowers down do not add - debt to it the indications and symbols of the place are predominant. Mythologie were ever more important the Nazis, than realities.

... after some technical experiments now the first entry of the VLOG on the "hanseatischen befindlichkeiten". Apart from the Pod Casting technology the VLOGs fills the last gaps of multimedia communication in the InterNet. Which that is exact; whether sowas sense makes and which this possibly costs - over it perhaps in the next weeks and months more. I decided only for an integration via Macromedia Flash format, since Quicktime left nevertheless qualitatively to doubts. Then however the experiences of other Vloger, which were at least purposeful and pushed on the platform-independent Windows Media format, convinced me. Although also not absolutely the quality convinced me there, but rather the compressing barness. The past contributions are up to now naturally only technical experiments - suggestions for interesting contributions supply numerous Vlogs of the Internets. The most interesting also shortly here...
